Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Amanda is currently ranked first in her class of 238 students and is an active member of the Jacksonville High School varsity tennis team. Her numerous academic accomplishments include receiving the Maiden Academic Award in 11th grade, two-time regional qualifier in UIL Literary Criticism (10th & 11th grades) and 3rd place winner of the SFA Biology II Achievement Exam (11th grade). Additionally, she has been inducted into the National Honor Society, has completed necessary measures to graduate in the Distinguished Achievement Program, is an AP scholar and a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program. A three-year letterman in tennis, her athletic accomplishments include being named a regional qualifier in girls double tennis and being named to the 1st Team All-District in tennis. In addition to her academic and athletic achievments, Amanda is a member of the Central Baptist Youth Group and a volunteer with the Children’s Reading Program at the Jacksonville Public Library and Habitat for Humanity. Upon graduation she plans to attend Stephen F. Austin University. Award was presented on behalf of the Texas State Farm® Agents by Julie Duren of Jacksonville.

Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Erin is currently ranked first in her class of 566 students and is a member of the Brazoswood High School varsity volleyball team. In addition to a perfect GPA, her many academic accomplishments include 14 Brazoswood merit awards (top grade in specific class, all were Pre-AP or AP), membership in the Texas Scholar Program; and being named a PSAT commended student and a Brazoswood "Who's Who." A three-year letterman and captain of the varsity volleyball team, her athletic accolades include being named Best Offensive Player (2 years), Top Academic Player (3 years), Dickinson All-Tournament Team and District Team Honorable Mention. Additionally, she is president of the National Honor Society and is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and Grable's Grasshoppers. Her extra-curricular activites include active participation in the Youth Advisory Commission for the city of Lake Jackson (board member), Brazospointe "All-Stars," and volunteer service as a Sunday school teacher. Upon graduation, Erin plans to attend college and would like to major in international development.

Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, William is currently ranked 9th in his class of 457 students and is a member of the West Brook High School basketball and tennis teams. He has maintained a near-perfect GPA while pursuing a vigorous academic program which has included 9 AP courses, 2 dual credit courses, and 15 honor courses. He has received "All A" Honors, and achievement awards in chemistry, computer science and orchestra. He is a National Merit student, receiving perfect scores in SAT math and subject test math. A varsity basketball point guard, William is one of the leader scorers on the team, scoring in double digits for 4 seasons and is a 90% free-throw shooter. He has been a starter and co-captain for three years, participated in post season playoffs, and was on the Don Eddy All Star European touring team. His 3-year varsity tennis career highlights include being co-captain, USTA ZAT # 1 in 2004, and a John Newcombe Tennis Ranch top gun tournament champ. He is president of the National Honor Society, the Key Club webmaster, and is a Varsity Basketball team math tutor. Outside of school, William is Keystone Club president and education chair, and AAU and Houston Rockets League basketball teams point guard. He has participated in a short term mission trip to build a church in Matamoros Mexico. He was a volunteer basketball coach for News Release summer camps in Germany. Locally, he volunteera as a tutor for subsidized afterschool daycares, was a volunteer tennis coach for community summer clinic in 2006 and 2007, and he also volunteers for Meals on Wheels, a retirement home, and American Legion Texas Boys. Upon graduation, William plans to study Finance and play basketball in college, work in sales and trading on Wall Street, and then work for the World Bank.

Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Michelle is currently ranked fourth in her class of 1,200 students and is a member of the Allen High School cross country, track and soccer teams. In addition to a 4.0 GPA, she is a National Merit Commended Scholar, AP Scholar, Letters about Literature Essay Competition Finalist, and a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Roll and Who’s Who Among High School Students. A two-year letterman in cross country and track, she is also the senior leader for cross country. Additionally, she is a member of the Allen Eagle Escadrille (Marching Band), Band, Key Club, Math UIL Team, Science UIL Team, Eagle Depot (Advanced academics mentoring), and the Allen Academic Mentoring Service. Her extra-curricular activities include volunteer service with the Homework Zone, a tutoring program at the local library, as well as participation in Life Teens church youth group and Teen Court as a juror. Upon graduation Michelle plans to attend college and major in chemical engineering and pre-dentistry with the aspiration of attending graduate school for dentistry and becoming an orthodontist.

In addition to a perfect GPA, Heath is an AP scholar, a National Merit Scholar and a Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Forum attendee. His athletic accomplishments include Honorable Mention All-District and Academic All-District. Additionally, he is a member of the UIL Academics Social Studies and Science Teams, Fellowship of Christian Athletes-Leadership Council, the National Honor Society and is a Class Officer. His extra-curricular activites include active participation in the First Street Church of Christ Youth Group and he is a Boys' State Alumni. Upon graduation, Heath plans to attend Texas A&M and major in engineering. Award was presented on behalf of the Texas State Farm® Agents by Boyd Sharp of Lampasas.

Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Shalin is currently ranked third in his class of 580 students and is captain of the Kempner High School varsity cross country team. His many academic achievements include being named a National Merit Scholarhip Program Commended Student and Student of the Year in Honors IPC, Honors Geometry, Honors Spanish III, Debate I, Honors Algebra II, AP United States History and Honors Pre-Calculus. He has also received the Fort Bend ISD Science Fair 2005-Outstanding Achievement in Science Award, advancement to the Science Engineering Fair of Houston in 2005, and the National Forensic League Degree of Merit and Honors Degree. Named the cross country team’s “Most Valuable Runner” in 2007, his athletic accolades include the Cross Country Cougar Heart Award in 2006; cross country regional qualifier in 2005, 2006 and 2007; track and field regional qualifier in 2007 (1600 meter and 3200 meter races) and the 2007 Most Improved Track and Field Athlete. Additionally, Shalin is president of the National Honor Society and is a member of the English Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Speech and Debate team, Model United Nations and Academic Decathalon. His extra-curricular activies include various community volunteer service programs. Upon graduation he plans to attend Stanford University or Rice University with a major in law. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Michael is currently ranked second in his class of 620 students and is a member of the Magnolia High School swimming and water polo teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic accolades include being named the “Most Outstanding Student” in Pre-AP Chemistry, AP Psychology, Pre-AP World History Student, Pre-AP Algebra II, Pre-AP English I, and Pre-AP Geometry; additonally, he has received the Citizenship Award, and has been named to the National Honor Roll, “Who's Who Among American High School Students,” and “Who's Who Among American High School Students - Sports Edition.” A four-year letterman in swimming, his athletic achievements include regional qualifier in 200/500 Free and 200/400 Free Relay (11th grade) and setting the school record for the 200 Free. He has also received the “Hardest Worker” and “Most Team Spirit” awards. Additionally, Michael is a member of the National Honor Society, Obadiah Christian Organization (head leader for 11th and 12th grades), Fellowhip of Christian Athletes, Student Principal Advisory, and the school band. His extra-curricular activities include active participation in the Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout); Houston Youth Symphony, First Baptist Church Magnolia Youth Group, Foundry United Methodist Church Orchestra and Kanakuk Athletic Kamps. Upon graduation, Michael plans to attend Wheaton College in Illinois where he anticipates majoring in international relations and biblical studies. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Thaddeus is currently ranked tenth in his class of 252 students and is a member of the El Campo High School football, track and swim teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic achievements include AB honor roll freshman and sophomore years, German Honor Fraternity, Outstanding Achievement in German III award, Academic All District for football, and the Academic Excellence award. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, the National Honor Society of High School Scholars, and Who’s Who Among American High School Students. His many athletic awards and achievements include the Track Fighting Heart Award, Regional Track Qualifier, and being named to the 2nd Team Football All District Defense. Additionally, he is a member of the Student Council and German Club, has visited schools for Drug-Free week, and reads with elementary school children. Outside of school, his is active in his church, serving as lector, vacation bible school worker as well as working at the church picnic, Passion Play and youth dinner. He was a Community Thanksgiving worker, Pumpkin Patch worker, ACTS Team Leader, Chamber Ambassador and Teen Jam Presentor. Upon graduation, he plans to become a physical trainer to help others optimize their athletic potential. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Michael is currently co-ranked first in his class of 225 students and is a member of the Pleasanton High School soccer, cross country, swimming and baseball teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, he is a National Merit Semi-Finalist, an AP Scholar, a UIL Regional Qualifier in Science, Number Sense, Calculator and History (2 years); he has also received the Superintendent's Academic Award (7 years), and has been named an Outstanding High School Student (3 years). His athletic accomplishments include being named All District Academic Soccer in 2006, Most Improved Goal Keeper at Texas A&M Camp and Most Improved Runner-Freshman Cross Country; he as also received the Eagle Heart Award for soccer. Michael has been a member of the student council and LEAD (Leading Eagles Against Drugs) for four years, he is also a member of the National Honor Society, PHS Band and PHS Drama Club. His extra-curricular activites include participation in the People to People World Leadership Forum as a Student Ambassador, MADD Youth Leadership Power Camp, FBC Youth counselor and lifeguard, Operation H20/Mission Kenya, Atascosa Project ACCEPT and the Studio Players' Children's Theatre. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Marisa is ranked first in her class of 135 students and is a member of the Clint High School varsity basketball and track teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, she is an A Honor Roll student, placed 1st at the Science Fair, has received the Optimist Club Scholarship, is president of the National Honor Society and vice-president of her class. A four-year letterman in track and two-year letterman in basketball, she is also a member of the volleyball and softball teams. Her athletic accomplishments include honorable mention in basketball and volleyball, regional participant in track for the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons, and basketball playoffs for the 2006-2007 season. Additionally, she is a member of Destination Imagination, The Optimist Club, GO-Center, Class Committee, and Student Council. Her extra-curricular activities include various community and church volunteer service opportunities and she is a HOBY Delegate. Marisa intends to graduate with 30 college credit hours already completed and would like to attend a college such as Texas Tech where she plans to major in pre-med to accomplish her goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. In addition to a perfect GPA, her academic achievements include being named a National Merit Semifinalist, and “Who's Who Among Students;” she is also president of the National Honor Society and an AP Scholar. In addition to basketball, she is a member of the school’s track team and her many athletic accomplishments include being named the MVP/Co-captain of the JV basketball team, starting center for the 2006-2007 varsity basketball team, was voted 2nd Team All-District for the 2006-2007 varsity basketball season and placed 8th in District for JV discuss. Additionally, she is a member of the Student Council, Johnny Rebs, Link Crew (freshman mentoring), Site-based Student Leadership Committee, Senior Planning Board, Ping-Pong Club, Charette Committee, and Student Leadership Cadre. Her extra-curricular activites include active participation in NETTY (synagogue youth group), the Congressional Youth Advisory Council, Texas Liberty Basketball Club and weekly volunteer service as a tutor at Hebrew School. Upon graduation Jordan plans to attend college and is considering a major in international relations or social work. Following college, she is interested in volunteering for the Peace Corps. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic achievements include being named a Coca-Cola scholar-semifinalist, Tom Landry Scholar Athlete and D.A.R. Good Citizen in 2008; Delegate to Boy's State in 2007; Voice of Democracy local & district winner in 2006 and 2007 and a HOBY leadership forum attendee in 2006. Additionally, he attained Highest Honor Roll 2005-2008, was a UIL Number Sense Regional Qualifier in 2005 and 2006, UIL Mathematics Regional Qualifiers in 2006, Jon Ben Sheppard Leadership Forum Participant, has been inducted into the National Honor Society, received the U.S. Achievement Academy National English Award and U.S. Achievement Academy National Math Award; has been named to the Who's Who Among American High School Students and is a Duke University Talent Identification-State Qualifier. An equally accomplished athlete and captain of the varsity tennis team, he is a Wendy’s Heisman Scholar Athlete, Victoria Advocate Athlete of the Week; and placed 1st in mixed doubles in 2007 for the District, Region and State. Kyle is also president of the National Honor Society, president and founder of Shiner Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Class Treasurer, Student Representative on Site Base Committee , active in the Future Farmers of America and a highly accomplished member of the Band and UIL One-Act Play Cast. Outside of school, he is an active participant in the Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout), has made several mission trips and is a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Upon graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M University as a member of the Corps of Cadets. After obtaining his business degree, he plans to obtain his business master's degree. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Danielle is currently ranked fifth in her class of 235 students and is a member of the Dumas High School varsity Basketball and Track teams. In addition to a near-perfect GPA, her many academic accomplishments include membership in the National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars. While taking many AP and Dual credit courses, Danielle received the Geometry award for outstanding Geometry student in 2005 as well as Academic Achievement Awards in grades 9 10, and 11. Her sporting accomplishments in basketball include being team captain for the 2007-08 season, receiving her varsity letter for 3 years, and All-District Honorable Mention for 2007. She is a three-year qualifier in Pole Vault and cross country. She was a member of the 2005 state qualifying team for volleyball. All these athletic accomplishments led to her being voted All-Round Female Athlete of 2006 by Dumas High School coaches. Additionally, she is currently the student body vice president, and has been a student council representative for 4 years. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, was a leader in the National Honor Society Canned Food Drive, and the Dumas High School Blood Drive. Her involvement in FFA includes reporter (current year), Sentinal (2006-07) and winner of the Greenhand award (2004-05). Outside of school, she is a involved as an officer in the 4-H Teen council, is a 4-H Gold Star winner, member of the Texas Junior Livestock Association, is Vice President of the Moore County Youth Advisory Board, and a volunteer for the North Plains Groundwater Conservation District. Upon graduation, Danielle plans on attending a 4 year university and pursuing a degree in Business Marketing or Accounting with a minor in Ag. Communications. She has been accepted to Texas Tech where she plans to study Business/Marketing with a minor in Ag Communications.

Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Rachel is currently ranked first in her class of 83 students and is a member of the Odem High School cross country and track teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, her academic achievements include making the A Honor Roll, and awards in Algebra I, World Geography, AP United States History and AP English III. She has received the Citgo-Corpus Christi Caller-Times Scholar Athlete Finalist Award and was accepted into the Outstanding Students of America. Recognized as the MVP of both the cross country and track teams, her athletic accomplishments include District Champ Cross Country, All-District Team Cross Country, 2nd Team All-Area Cross Country, All-South Texas Cross Country, District Champ 800m Run, Regional Qualifier 1600m Relay and Regional Qualifier Cross Country. Additionally, she is president and historian of the National Honor Society, Class President, and a member of the Student Council, Chess Club, Spanish Club and Nurse Club. She is also an accomplished member of the school band, and has been named to both the All-Region and All-Area Band. Her extra-curricular activities include involvement in church and community groups and numerous volunteer service opportunities. Upon graduation Rachel plans to attend a four-year university. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Molly is currently ranked first in her class of 106 students and is a member of the Edna High School tennis team. In addition to a perfect GPA, her academic achievements include being named to the “Who’s Who” among high school students, and the Distinguished Honor Roll. She has also received awards in Pre-AP English, Pre-AP Chemistry I, AP Algebra II and Physics. Her athletic accomplishments include 2nd Place in Girls Doubles at District in 2007, 2nd Place in Girls Doubles at Regional in 2007, advancement to the State Tennis Tournament in 2007 and 7th Place at the State Team Tennis Tournament in 2007. Additionally, she is the Class Secretary, president of the National Honor Society, recording secretary of the Student Council, lieutenant of the Silver Spurs Drill Team and a member of the Texas Association of Future Educators. She is also active in the First Baptist Church youth group and the Texana Chapter of the Children of the Republic of Texas. Upon graduation, Molly plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin where she would like to pursue a degree in pre-med or biomedical engineering with the aspiration of continuing on to medical school and becoming a family practitioner. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Patrick is currently ranked second in his class of 566 students and is a member of the Katy High School football and lacrosse teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic awards include the Discover Card Tribute Scholarship Award, State Winner in 2007; the High School Aerospace Scholars Award-NASA award and internship in 2007; AP Scholar with Honors Award in 2007; Katy High School Academic Achievement; Katy Student of the Month ; and the Katy AP Biology and Honors World History Award. He is also a member of the National Honor Society and a highly-accomplished AP scholar. Captain of the lacrosse team, he is a also a four-year member of the football team and was named a Greater Houston Touchdown Club Scholar Athlete Finalist in 2007. Additionally, he is a member of the History Club, Spanish Club, Katy ISD Leadership Forum, and Katy ISD AP Advisory Committee. Outside of school, he is active in the United Methodist Active Reach-Out by Youth (UM ARMY)--You Missions Program, involving home and church repairs in low socio-economic areas in Texas; Katy First United Methodist Church Missions & Education Programs; and Lions Club Volunteer Program. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a career in medicine as an oncologist with a specialization in pediatric cancer research. Her many academic accomplishments include being named to the National Honor Roll, Who's Who Among High School Students, the President's Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, Ralls Chamber of Commerce Student of the Quarter, and Ralls High School Student of the Month as well as receipt of the Ralls High School Math, Science and English Departmental Awards. An equally accomplished athlete, she has been named Academic All-District (2005-2007), Co-New Comer of the Year (2004-2005), District Offensive MVP (2005-06, 2006-07), 1st Team All South Plains (2005-06, 2006-07), and 1st Team All Region 2006-07 for basketball; State Runner-up (2006), 4th at State 2007, and two-time All State Cross Country Team for cross country; three-time State Champion-3200m run (2005-2007), two-time State Runner-up 1600m run (2005-06), Silver medalist 1600m run (2007), and Area Qualifier 1600 m relay (2006) for track; two-time Regional Qualifier for tennis and 1st Team All-District Outfielder for softball. Additionally, she is a Wendy's High School Heisman State Finalist and receipient of the Ralls High School Ron Green Award. She is also s a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, UIL Business Professionals of America, Superintendent's Council of Student Leaders, Yearbook and Newspaper staffs, teaches CCE at St. Michael’s Catholic Church and is a mentor with the EDGE mentoring program. Upon graduation, Alexandria would like to become a collegiate runner and/or basketball player and major in mass communications. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Brant is currently ranked first in his class of 57 students and is team captain of the Linden-Kildare varsity football team. A 4.0 student, his academic accomplishments include making the A Honor Roll and enrolling in every advanced subject offered at Linden-Kildare High School. In addition to football, he is a member of the school’s tennis, track and field, and baseball teams. His many athletic accomplishments include being named MVP for the 2007 tennis season, Offensive Line MVP for the 2005 and 2006 football seasons, Defensive Line MVP for the 2006 football season and All-District Football for the 2006 season. Additionally, he is the Senior Class President, president of the Future Farmers of America, and is an active member of the Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Science Club and UIL Teams. His extra-curricular activities include participation in church and community activities such as 4-H and volunteer work with the Randy Samms Homeless Shelter and in support Hurricane Katrina victims. Upon graduation, Brant plans to study pharmacy or biology at university with the aspiration of becoming a pharmacist. He also hopes to play college football. Ray High School varsity soccer team. Ranked in the top ten of his class throughout high school, his academic achievements include making the A honor roll, receiving the 2007 Harvard Book Award and being named a National Hispanic Merit Scholar. Additionally, he is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Key Club and cross country team. His extra-curricular activities include participation in the Boy Scouts of America, where he has earned the title of Eagle Scout, and the City of Corpus Christi Sister City Student Exchange Program as well as volunteer service through Habitat for Humanity. Her many academic achievements include making the school Honor Roll every year since first grade and induction into the National Honor Society. She has also earned 12 semester college hours through dual credit courses. A four-year letterman, she participates in cross country and track in addition to swimming. Other athletic accomplishments include MVP and leadership awards, being named a regional finalist in 9th, 10th and 11th grades and being named to the 2006 TISCA All State Team. Additionally, she is a water safety instructor, AquaStar swim team member and part-time volunteer in church and community activities. Upon graduation, Katherine plans to study chemical or biomedical engineering at a four-year accredited university with the aspiration of attending medical school. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic accomplishments include being named a National Merit Commended Student, Outstanding Student in Pre-AP: English, Biology, Geometry, IPC, Spanish, Pre-calculus; Regional qualifier for UIL Number Sense; and Who's Who Among American High School. He was also a member of the UIL District team for Math, Calculator, & Science Students, attained the Superintendent's Honor Roll all years at Hallsville, received the AP Scholar Award for Language & Composition, Environmental Science, and U S History and is vice-president of the National Honor Society. A three-year letterman in baseball and cross country, he holds the school record for most sacrifice hits in a single season, was named Cross Country “Rookie of the Year” and received the Cross Country Hustle Award. Additionally, he is the Bobcat Band President, has been named the Band Outstanding Musician and Most Dedicated Band Member and has been named to the All-Region Band each year of high school as well as the All-Area Band in 11th grade. Outside of school, he is active in his church youth group, orchestra and youth choir as well as volunteer service in support of the Texas Hurricane Relief Effort. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Ariel is currently ranked second in her class of 135 students and is a member of the Hamshire-Fannett High School varsity Track & Field, Volleyball and Cross-Country teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, her many academic accomplishments include membership in the National Honor Society, an organization of which she is Treasurer, and Who’s Who 2007. Her sporting accomplishments include being named Track MVP in 2006 and 2007, and Cross Country MVP in 2007. She was a track regional qualifier in 300m hurdles in 2005, a regional finalist in 300m hurdles in 2006 and 2007, and a regional qualifier in 1600m relay in 2005, 2006, and 2007. In 300m hurdles, she broke her school record and took first place in the district. She was a regional qualifier in cross country in 2005 and played varsity volleyball for 2 years. Additionally, she has been a student council representative both her junior and senior years, is a member of the Spanish Club and UIL Science club. Outside of school, she is very involved in her church, serving in the Youth Group, Youth Choir, greeting committee, recreational committee and Ordinance committee. She also participated in a Spring Break mission trip. Upon graduation, Ariel plans to attend a four-year college and double major in biology and history, then either go to medical or law school. In addition to a perfect GPA, her academic accomplishments include being an Academic Sweater Recipient, membership in the Nation Honor Society, being named to Who's Who Among American High School Students, the Honor Roll and the All-Academic Team. An equally accomplished athlete, she was named 2007 1st Team All-District, 2006 Defensive Player of the Year, and 2005 Newcomer of the Year for softball; 2006 Defensive Player of the Year and 2005 2nd Team All-District for volleyball; 2005-2007 Regional Qualifier in track; and 2006 State qualifier for the pole vault. Additionally, she is a Student Council representative and Class Officer and is involved in Peer Assistance and Leadership and UIL academic competition. Outside of school, she is an active participant in the Northcrest Church of Christ Youth Force through which she volunteers her time to such activties as teaching vacation bible school and mission trips. Upon graduation, Taylor hopes to play softball at the collegiate level. She plans on majoring in kinesiology and would like to enter the teaching profession upon graduation. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Greg is currently ranked high in his class of 269 students and is a member of the Little Elm High School basketball and golf teams. In addition to maintaining a B average, his academic achievements and awards include UIL Listening skills district champ (perfect score 2 years in a row), the Little Elm High School Principal’s Award, and the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. He was selected as one of 3 presenters for National NSPR, chosen to be student co-captain of the Dallas Mavericks, and named student of the month by a national magazine. Greg was basketball team captain for 4 years, and golf team captain for 3. Additionally, he was class president in his sophomore and junior years, and class parliamentarian in his senior year. He was a member of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory council for 3 years, president of the prom committee for 2 years, and a representative at the LEISD strategic planning committee. Perhaps the achievement of which he is most proud is founding the philanthropic organization Young People Who Care, which is a group of dedicated high school volunteers who do such things in the community as feeding the homeless, visiting a children’s hospital, building friendships and providing for the needs of orphans in the area, and even simply beautifying their own community. Outside of school, his is active in Big Brother/Big Sister, Habitat for Humanity, served as Athletic Director of American Legion Boy State, provided tutoring at the local junior high, and sponsored a monthly parents night out. Upon graduation, he plans on attending the University of Texas- Austin and majoring in Marketing. He is currently in the process of acquiring Federal funding to start a camp for disadvantage kids that will teach them how to maximize their potential and rise out of their current situations. His camp will be opening in the summer of 2009 and he is currently touring properties as a location for his camp. His many academic achievements include being named to the “Who’s Who” in Pre-AP and AP English, Spanish, Biology and Accounting; four years of membership on the Academic UIL team and being named a regional qualifier in UIL Number Sense. An equally accomplished athlete, his athletic accolades include being named 1st Team All-State Pitcher and MVP of the 9-A district for varsity baseball, Honorable Mention All-District in varsity football, and Academic All-State in varsity basketball. Additionally, he is a member of the Student Council, National Honor Society, was elected class president of his freshman, junior and senior classes, and is an active member of his church youth group. Upon graduation, Blaine plans to play college baseball while earning a college degree.
