Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Brianna is currently ranked first in her class of 28 students is a member of the Farwell High School basketball, cross country, track and golf teams. Current vice-president of the National Honor Society, her numerous academic accomplishments include making the Principal’s Honor Roll, commended performance on TAKS, being named a National Merit Commended Scholar; additionally, she is a four-year member of the 1st Place UIL Mathematics Team, placed 1st in UIL Feature Writing and has been named Academic All-District in multiple sports. Her athletic accolades include the 2007 “Lady Blue” Award for being the best all-around female athlete; co-winner for the 2007 “Principal’s Award,” presented to the top scholar athlete; cross country team MVP; District Champion in the 400-meter and mile relay; Regional Qualifier in the 400-meter and 800-meter; member of the 2007 District Champion Team in golf; 2nd Team All-District in basketball for 2006; and All-District Catcher for softball in 2005. In addition to her academic and athletic achievments, Brianna is president of the Student Council, was elected Class President in the 9th, 10th and 11th grades, is a member of the Bartlett Youth Group/Farwell Youth Group and has been an active participant in several volunteer programs such as Huricane Rita relief efforts, school/community cell phone and paper recycling programs, school blood drives and Habitat for Humanity. Upon graduation she plans to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point to major in Pre-Law or Communications.

Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Neal is currently ranked first in his class of 96 students and is a member of the Kountze High School tennis, cross country, football and basketball teams. He is a member of the National Honor Society, is a three-year Presidential Award for Academic Excellence recipient, and four-year "A" Honor Roll member. His athletic accolates include making 1st place district for baseball and golf, as well as being a three-year regional qualifier in golf. Additionally, he is a member of the Student Council, is the Senior Class President, two-year member of the One Act Play--Honorable Mention All Star Cast, and three-year member of the Choir. Outside of school, Neal is an active participant in the First Baptist Church of Kountze Youth group, leadership team, and visitation ministry; he has also been involved in church missionary work. Upon graduation, Neal plans to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he will major in Theology. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Amanda is currently ranked first in her class of 238 students and is an active member of the Jacksonville High School varsity tennis team. Her numerous academic accomplishments include receiving the Maiden Academic Award in 11th grade, two-time regional qualifier in UIL Literary Criticism (10th & 11th grades) and 3rd place winner of the SFA Biology II Achievement Exam (11th grade). Additionally, she has been inducted into the National Honor Society, has completed necessary measures to graduate in the Distinguished Achievement Program, is an AP scholar and a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program. A three-year letterman in tennis, her athletic accomplishments include being named a regional qualifier in girls double tennis and being named to the 1st Team All-District in tennis. In addition to her academic and athletic achievments, Amanda is a member of the Central Baptist Youth Group and a volunteer with the Children’s Reading Program at the Jacksonville Public Library and Habitat for Humanity. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Erin is currently ranked first in her class of 566 students and is a member of the Brazoswood High School varsity volleyball team. In addition to a perfect GPA, her many academic accomplishments include 14 Brazoswood merit awards (top grade in specific class, all were Pre-AP or AP), membership in the Texas Scholar Program; and being named a PSAT commended student and a Brazoswood "Who's Who." A three-year letterman and captain of the varsity volleyball team, her athletic accolades include being named Best Offensive Player (2 years), Top Academic Player (3 years), Dickinson All-Tournament Team and District Team Honorable Mention. Additionally, she is president of the National Honor Society and is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and Grable's Grasshoppers. Her extra-curricular activites include active participation in the Youth Advisory Commission for the city of Lake Jackson (board member), Brazospointe "All-Stars," and volunteer service as a Sunday school teacher. Upon graduation, Erin plans to attend Michigan State University. Award was presented on behalf of the Texas State Farm® Agents by George Franklin of Lake Jackson.

Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Samuel is currently ranked 7th in his class of 429 students and is a member of the Richardson High School varsity football and JV soccer teams. In addition to a near-perfect GPA, his many academic accomplishments include membership in the National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. He has been honored with the Academic Athlete of the Year Award, Freshman Leadership Award, Good Citizenship Award for the freshman class by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Academic Football Award, and the 110% Award in Football. He was a member of the All-District Academic Team in football in 2006. Additionally, he is a member of the Student Council and is president of the Spanish Club. He is also a member of the Richardson Youth Leadership, INTERACT, and Law Review. Outside of school, he is a long-standing member of the Boy Scouts of America, was a senior patrol leader 2004 – 2006, and attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Defense/Intelligence/Diplomacy. He also enjoys lifeguarding and being a soccer referee. Upon graduation, Samuel plans to attend LSU and major in history and Math. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Vikrama is currently ranked first in his class of 760 students and is a member of the Clear Lake High School tennis and basketball teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic achievements include being named a National Merit Semifinalist/Finalist and an AP Scholar with Distinction; he has also been inducted into the National Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society. He is a member of the Indian Culture Club, Houston Area Model United Nations, Lake Against Cancer Club, Clear Lake High School Quiz Bowl and Engineers Without Borders. His athletic accolades include Regional Finalist in 2006 for team tennis and Doubles District Runner Up in 2007. In addition to his scholastic endeavors, he is a member of the United States Tennis Association and is active in various volunteer and community groups such as Literacy Advance of Houston, Commander’s Program-United Way, Interfaith Caring Ministries, Unnati (2007) and AIM for Seva (2006). Upon graduation he plans to attend the UT Austin Plan II Honors program and eventually pursue a degree in law.

Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, William is currently ranked 9th in his class of 457 students and is a member of the West Brook High School basketball and tennis teams. He has maintained a near-perfect GPA while pursuing a vigorous academic program which has included 9 AP courses, 2 dual credit courses, and 15 honor courses. He has received "All A" Honors, and achievement awards in chemistry, computer science and orchestra. He is a National Merit student, receiving perfect scores in SAT math and subject test math. A varsity basketball point guard, William is one of the leader scorers on the team, scoring in double digits for 4 seasons and is a 90% free-throw shooter. He has been a starter and co-captain for three years, participated in post season playoffs, and was on the Don Eddy All Star European touring team. His 3-year varsity tennis career highlights include being co-captain, USTA ZAT # 1 in 2004, and a John Newcombe Tennis Ranch top gun tournament champ. He is president of the National Honor Society, the Key Club webmaster, and is a Varsity Basketball team math tutor. Outside of school, William is Keystone Club president and education chair, and AAU and Houston Rockets League basketball teams point guard. He has participated in a short term mission trip to build a church in Matamoros Mexico. He was a volunteer basketball coach for News Release summer camps in Germany. Locally, he volunteers as a tutor for subsidized afterschool daycares, was a volunteer tennis coach for community summer clinic in 2006 and 2007, and he also volunteers for Meals on Wheels, a retirement home, and American Legion Texas Boys. Upon graduation, William plans to study business and play basketball at Georgetown, work in sales and trading on Wall Street, and then work for the World Bank. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Michelle is currently ranked fourth in her class of 1,200 students and is a member of the Allen High School cross country, track and soccer teams. In addition to a 4.0 GPA, she is a National Merit Commended Scholar, AP Scholar, Letters about Literature Essay Competition Finalist, and a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Roll and Who’s Who Among High School Students. A two-year letterman in cross country and track, she is also the senior leader for cross country. Additionally, she is a member of the Allen Eagle Escadrille (Marching Band), Band, Key Club, Math UIL Team, Science UIL Team, Eagle Depot (Advanced academics mentoring), and the Allen Academic Mentoring Service. Her extra-curricular activities include volunteer service with the Homework Zone, a tutoring program at the local library, as well as participation in Life Teens church youth group and Teen Court as a juror. Upon graduation Michelle will be attending Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she plans to major in bio-chemistry. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Heath is currently ranked first in his class of 249 students and is a member of the Lampasas basketball and track teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, Heath is an AP scholar, a National Merit Scholar and a Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Forum attendee. His athletic accomplishments include Honorable Mention All-District and Academic All-District. Additionally, he is a member of the UIL Academics Social Studies and Science Teams, Fellowship of Christian Athletes-Leadership Council, the National Honor Society and is a Class Officer. His extra-curricular activites include active participation in the First Street Church of Christ Youth Group and he is a Boys' State Alumni. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Kyle is currently ranked first in his class of 175 students and is a member of the La Vernia High School football, baseball, and powerlifting teams. In addition to a perfect GPA and being a member of the National Honor Society, his many academic accomplishments include being named to the National Honor Roll, and receiving merit awards for the All “A” Honor Roll, Dual-credit History, World Geography, Multimedia, Spanish 3, Chemistry and Physics. He is a National High School Scholar. Kyle is a 2-year letterman in football and 3-year letterman in baseball. He was named to the 1st Team All-District baseball team, 1st Team All-District Defensive Back and Academic All-State Football Team 3A. Additionally, he is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Spanish Club. Outside of school, he belongs to a church youth worship band and is a ranch hunting guide assistant. Upon graduation, Kyle plans to attend Texas Lutheran University where he will study Biology as a pre-medical student. From there he plans to attend medical school and pursue a career as an orthopedic sports medicine doctor. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Amanda is currently ranked second in her class of 64 students and is a member of the Providence High School basketball and volleyball teams. In addition to being the National Honor Society President, her many academic achievements include being elected Student Council Junior Class Treasurer, achieving Honor Roll status every quarter (grades 9, 10 and 11), Distinguished Performance National Spanish Exam Silver, selected as Academic Awards Ceremony speaker (grade 11), recipient of the Kodak Young leaders Award, and nomination for the Princeton Book, National High School Scholars, Student of the Week, and the Principal's Leadership Award. Additionally, she has received awards and academic pins for numerous subjects including Broadcast Media, English and AP English, World Geography, Personal Fitness, Business Computer Information, Speech, Religion, Spanish, Dance, U.S. History, Social Justice, and Algebra I and II. Three-year captain of the volleyball team and two-year captain of the basketball team, her athletic accolades include being named Offensive Player of the year Volleyball (grade 9 and 10); Offensive Player of the Year Basketball (grades 9 and 10), Shooter of the Year for Basketball (grade 11), Scholar Athlete of the Week KSAT 12 News (grade 12) and All -Tournament Setter SAISD (grade 12). Her extra-curricular activities include various church and community volunteer programs such as Home Court America, St. Margaret Mary's Parish School, McAllen 18th Annual Miracle Riders, San Antonio International Church of Christ and Vacation Bible School. His many academic achievements include being named a National Merit Scholarhip Program Commended Student and Student of the Year in Honors IPC, Honors Geometry, Honors Spanish III, Debate I, Honors Algebra II, AP United States History and Honors Pre-Calculus. He has also received the Fort Bend ISD Science Fair 2005-Outstanding Achievement in Science Award, advancement to the Science Engineering Fair of Houston in 2005, and the National Forensic League Degree of Merit and Honors Degree. Named the cross country team’s “Most Valuable Runner” in 2007, his athletic accolades include the Cross Country Cougar Heart Award in 2006; cross country regional qualifier in 2005, 2006 and 2007; track and field regional qualifier in 2007 (1600 meter and 3200 meter races) and the 2007 Most Improved Track and Field Athlete. Additionally, Shalin is president of the National Honor Society and is a member of the English Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Speech and Debate team, Model United Nations and Academic Decathalon. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic accolades include being named the “Most Outstanding Student” in Pre-AP Chemistry, AP Psychology, Pre-AP World History Student, Pre-AP Algebra II, Pre-AP English I, and Pre-AP Geometry; additonally, he has received the Citizenship Award, and has been named to the National Honor Roll, “Who's Who Among American High School Students,” and “Who's Who Among American High School Students - Sports Edition.” A four-year letterman in swimming, his athletic achievements include regional qualifier in 200/500 Free and 200/400 Free Relay (11th grade) and setting the school record for the 200 Free. He has also received the “Hardest Worker” and “Most Team Spirit” awards. Additionally, Michael is a member of the National Honor Society, Obadiah Christian Organization (head leader for 11th and 12th grades), Fellowhip of Christian Athletes, Student Principal Advisory, and the school band. His extra-curricular activities include active participation in the Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout); Houston Youth Symphony, First Baptist Church Magnolia Youth Group, Foundry United Methodist Church Orchestra and Kanakuk Athletic Kamps. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Thaddeus is currently ranked tenth in his class of 252 students and is a member of the El Campo High School football, track and swim teams. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic achievements include AB honor roll freshman and sophomore years, German Honor Fraternity, Outstanding Achievement in German III award, Academic All District for football, and the Academic Excellence award. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, the National Honor Society of High School Scholars, and Who’s Who Among American High School Students. His many athletic awards and achievements include the Track Fighting Heart Award, Regional Track Qualifier, and being named to the 2nd Team Football All District Defense. Additionally, he is a member of the Student Council and German Club, has visited schools for Drug-Free week, and reads with elementary school children. Outside of school, his is active in his church, serving as lector, vacation bible school worker as well as working at the church picnic, Passion Play and youth dinner. He was a Community Thanksgiving worker, Pumpkin Patch worker, ACTS Team Leader, Chamber Ambassador and Teen Jam Presentor. Upon graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M - Kingsville where he plans to major in Kinesiology and eventually hopes to become a physical trainer to help others optimize their athletic potential. Geoffrey Aaron Dunham Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Geoffrey is currently ranked sixth in his class of 560 students and is a member of the Lake Highlands High School football team. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic achievements include being recognized as a National Merit Commended Student, Who’s Who Among American High School Students and the National Society of High School Seniors. He received the Academic Excellence Award and President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence, was a school nominee for the Principal’s Leadership Award Scholarship Program and the Davey O’Brien Scholarship Program, was named the Lake Highlands Exchange Club Youth of the Month for September 2007 (recognized for achieving high levels of scholastic achievement, community involvement and leadership), and was selected for a summer internship at UT Southwestern Medical Center through the STARS Program. His athletic accolades include being the second on the varsity football team in solo tackles as strong safety his senior year, being named to the 1st Team - THSCA All-State Academic Teams and, during his sophomore year, receiving the Track District Award - fifth in district in 800-meter. He is a three-year member and current historian of the Student Council, member of the Student Advisory Council, Wranglers Country Western Dance Stunt Team, Ready Writing Team, AP Calculus Team, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. Outside of school, he is active in various church and community activities such as Young Life; participated in church mission trips to Taos and New Orleans, campaigned for the Dallas County Republicans, and plays recreational basketball and soccer. Most recently, Geoff was chosen as the Lake Highlands Male Youth of the Year. Upon graduation Geoffrey plans to attend Yale University where he will play football. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Anitra is currently ranked third in her class of 306 students and is a member of the Sidney Lanier High School volleyball, softball, basketball and soccer teams. Her academic achievements include the Trustees Scholar Award (presented to the top 10 percent in the class), the Outstanding African-American Achievement Award and Outstanding Student in Spanish Award. Her athletic accomplishments include 1st Team All-District for volleyball in 2007, 1st Team All-District for basketball in 2006 and 2007, 1st Team All-District for softball in 2007, 2nd Team All-District for softball in 2006 and honorable mention for volleyball and basketball in 2005. Additionally, she is vice president of the National Honor Society, 2008 Class Vice President, a member of Peer Assistant Leadership, the Assistant Head Editor of the school newspaper, editor-in-chief of the school yearbook and has been a member of the Universal Hills Optimist Kickball Association for 12 years. Upon graduation she plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh, and major in Social work and Psychology. In addition to a perfect GPA, he is a National Merit Semi-Finalist, an AP Scholar, a UIL Regional Qualifier in Science, Number Sense, Calculator and History (2 years); he has also received the Superintendent's Academic Award (7 years), and has been named an Outstanding High School Student (3 years). His athletic accomplishments include being named All District Academic Soccer in 2006, Most Improved Goal Keeper at Texas A&M Camp and Most Improved Runner-Freshman Cross Country; he as also received the Eagle Heart Award for soccer. Michael has been a member of the student council and LEAD (Leading Eagles Against Drugs) for four years, he is also a member of the National Honor Society, PHS Band and PHS Drama Club. His extra-curricular activites include participation in the People to People World Leadership Forum as a Student Ambassador, MADD Youth Leadership Power Camp, FBC Youth counselor and lifeguard, Operation H20/Mission Kenya, Atascosa Project ACCEPT and the Studio Players' Children's Theatre. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Kendra is currently ranked fifth in her class of 127 students and is a member of the Falfurrias High School golf and basketball teams. In addition to a maintaining a perfect GPA and taking many dual-credit courses, her academic achievements and awards include being a 4-year honor student, National History Fair State Qualifier in 2005 and State Winner in 2007, and being named to the Washington Student Delegate Leadership Conference. Kendra was a three-year winner of the National Student Day Athlete Award in addition to being a regional qualifier for golf for three years running. She was in the basketball Bi-District Playoff her senior year. Additionally, she is a member of the Falfurrias High School chapter of the Future Farmers of America, TRIO Educational Talent Search, Health Career Club, and Business Professionals of America. Outside of school, she is a particpant of the Cancer Relay for Life, Christmas toy drive, local community blood drives, community clean-up day, summer reading program for elementary school childen, and cleaned a homeless shelter in Washington, DC while attending her Leadership Conference. Upon graduation, she has decided to attend Texas A & M University in Kingsville because they have an outstanding sports medicine program. She plans to graduate from college and work at a high school as an athletic trainer. Award was presented on behalf of the Texas State Farm® Agents by Al Soliz of Falfurrias.

Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, Brant is currently ranked first in his class of 57 students and is team captain of the Linden-Kildare varsity football team. A 4.0 student, his academic accomplishments include making the A Honor Roll and enrolling in every advanced subject offered at Linden-Kildare High School. In addition to football, he is a member of the school’s tennis, track and field, and baseball teams. His many athletic accomplishments include being named MVP for the 2007 tennis season, Offensive Line MVP for the 2005 and 2006 football seasons, Defensive Line MVP for the 2006 football season and All-District Football for the 2006 season. Additionally, he is the Senior Class President, president of the Future Farmers of America, and is an active member of the Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Science Club and UIL Teams. His extra-curricular activities include participation in church and community activities such as 4-H and volunteer work with the Randy Samms Homeless Shelter and in support Hurricane Katrina victims. Upon graduation, Brant plans to attend Southern Arkansas University where he plans to study pharmacy or biology. He also hopes to play college football. Selected as a 2008 recipient of the State Farm® Texas Scholar Athlete program scholarship, David is currently ranked first in his class of 147 students and is a member of the Raymondville High School varsity track & field, powerlifting, and football teams. In addition to a near-perfect GPA, David has been awarded National Honor Roll for 4 years, is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, and the National Scholars Honor Society. He was awarded Outstanding Student of America, U.S. Border Patrol's Head of the Class Award, Top Kat Awards (highest averages in each subject), Student of the Month for 3 years, Perfect Attendance, 2007 Texas High School Coaches' Association All-State Academic Award-1st Team, and most recently received a plaque for Rotary Boy of the Month January 2008. He has been in the Distinguished Achievement Program and has been taking Pre-AP and AP courses since his freshman year. He has also participated in the concurrent enrollment program where he has accumulated college credit hours these past two years and has maintained a 3.5 (college) GPA. In Varsity track & field, David ranks 6th in the State of Texas in shot put and discus, earned 2007 Regional Champion in shot put with second place in discus, 2007 31-3A District Champion in shot put and discus, and has been a Regional track qualifier for three years. In Varsity power lifting, he ranks #1 in Region V Division II, has been 31-3A District Power Lifting Champion for two years and has been a Regional qualifier for three years. In Varsity football, David was selected to the 2006 31-3A 1st Team All-District Offensive Lineman, the All 3A Bay Area Football Team Offensive Line, the 2007 31-3A 2nd Team All-District Offensive Lineman, and was awarded the 2007 Texas High School Coaches' Association All-State Academic Award-1st Team. He played 1st string left guard for four years. He was the Free Throw Champion in basketball as well as pitcher and 1st baseman in baseball his freshman year. David has participated in Student Council for four years and was Junior Class President. He is a member of the Leo Club, Bearkat Marching Band (percussion section), and Symphonic Band. Outside of school, David has been an altar boy and usher, and youth team leader for his church. For four years, he has participated with the MDA telethons and with the Toys for Tots drive. As a Leo Club member, he visited the children at the Valley Baptist Children's Hospital, and the elderly in nursing homes. He donates his time at the La Sara Cemetery picking up and disposing of trash litter and tutors kids of all ages. Upon graduation, David plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in computer engineering. In addition to a perfect GPA, his many academic accomplishments include several Top GPA recognitions including those in Pre-AP English, AP English, Algebra, Geometry, Science, Geography, World History, Spanish, BCIS, and Nutrition. He was TAKS Commended in ELA, Math, Science, & Social Studies, a 4-year A Honor Roll student; a National Honor Roll student, a National Society of High School Scholar, selected to Who's Who Among American High School Scholars, winner of the USAA National Math Award, and the USAA International Foreign Language Award. A four-year varsity football player and captain of the football team, his many athletic achievements and awards in football include All-State Honorable Mention, two-time 2nd team All-District, 1st Team All-District his senior year, All-Region Team, 4-year Academic All-District, Academic All-State, Player of the Week, and All-Big Country Honorable Mention. In basketball, he was Academic All-District and Academic All-State. Heavily involved in school activities, he participates in FCCLA, an organization of which he was State V.P. and local president for three years, conducted state leadership meetings, and attended National Leadership Meetings. He has been a State Fair of Texas Youth Day Participant, and planned/conducted workshops. He is a member of the Beta Club, Student Council, Spanish Club, FCA, and PALS. He has been class president all four years of high school, and was voted Most Likely to Succeed his senior year. Outside of school, is active in vacation bible school, and has attended basketball camp, volunteered as a lifeguard, cleaned up after the annual Street Affair and participated in the Christmas Shoebox program. In addition to a perfect GPA, her many academic accomplishments include being named class Validictorian and president of the National Honor society. While taking many AP courses, Kaylyn was named student of the year for AP World History, pre-AP English II, pre-AP Spanish III, and Spanish IVAP. Her sporting accomplishments in tennis include being a 4-year letterman, co-captain, 4-time team tennis regional semifinalist, mixed doubles aternate to state tournament, and girls 16S Super Champ. Kaylyn is ranked 130 in the state of Texas. Additionally, she belongs to Girls of Devotion and is a Boerne Outdoor Academy student counselor. Outside of school, she is involved in the Summer Smashers tennis camp, church, and partipated in a Young Engineers and Scientists internship at Southwest Reserarch Institute. In addition to a perfect GPA, his academic achievements include the AP Scholar with Honor Award, Lions Club Student of the Month (1 of 2 recipients from district 12), Green Cord Award for 100 hours of community service, North Texas Tutoring Club Student Athlete Award (grade 12), Leadership Award (grade 10), Top 10% of the class award (grades 9 – 12) and Rotary Club Award for Academic Excellence (grades 9 -12). Additionally, he is a member of the National Honor Society, UIL Academic Team (Math) and Spanish Club; he is also a tutor for AVID (Achievement via Individual Determination -- class for academically challenged high school students). In addition to being a starting defender for the varsity soccer team, he was the Junior Varsity Basketball Team captain (grade 10) and a member of the freshman basketball team. Her sporting accomplishments include being named Track MVP in 2006 and 2007, and Cross Country MVP in 2007. She was a track regional qualifier in 300m hurdles in 2005, a regional finalist in 300m hurdles in 2006 and 2007, and a regional qualifier in 1600m relay in 2005, 2006, and 2007. In 300m hurdles, she broke her school record and took first place in the district. She was a regional qualifier in cross country in 2005 and played varsity volleyball for 2 years. Additionally, she has been a student council representative both her junior and senior years, is a member of the Spanish Club and UIL Science club.
